Marketing Campaigns, Social Media, Illustration, Merch, Print Assets, Annual Reports & Event Graphics

LADF tackles the most pressing problems facing Los Angeles with a mission to improve education, health care, homelessness and social justice for all Angelenos. My responsibility at Sawyer Agency was to design and implement beautiful campaigns based on their important work.

The Sunset Run

The Annual LADF Sunset Run requires an intensive but rewarding design calendar. I used to live across from the stadium, and wanted to pay homage to the beautiful and unique landscape of the park at Sunset. The result is a celebration of light and shadow, dotted with Dodger blue and colors that compliment and uplift the brand palette. It encompasses social media campaigns, run bibs, directional signage, banners, print ads, booklets, one sheets, T-shirts, and even a bobble head! Given how large the artwork must scale, I opted for a vector illustration for the key art. A vector illustration is digital art created with mathematical formulas defining points, lines, curves, and shapes, allowing it to be scaled infinitely large or small without losing quality or becoming pixelated. For my vector illustrations, I use Illustrator. Specific assets were then designed in Canva for the events team to edit and access. Sometimes you don’t have the time to reach out to a designer for a small copy edit because things move fast in large-scale events. That’s why I like to make my designs accessible to everyone on the client’s team.

The Blue Diamond Gala

A similarly large-scale event is LADF’s Blue Diamond Gala. The Gala is a star-studded fundraising event for the Los Angeles Community. Design demands are typically printed invitations, social media campaigns, swag, directional signage, banners, print ads, booklets, one sheets, & T-shirts. The illustration of Usher I made was never used, but it is so darn cute.

An Annual Event

We maintained an elevated style throughout the years that appealed to both baseball fans and philanthropists. The event was one of the Foundation’s largest yearly fundraisers.
