LA Kings 2024/2025

CREATIVE CAMPAIGNS

FOR DIGITAL, AD CAMPAIGNS, SCREENS, SOCIAL, AND LIVE EVENTS

The LA Kings recently underwent a rebrand, and SAWYER Agency was happy to be on-hand to help. The new LA Kings aesthetic is a thoughtful evolution that blends heritage with a modern, refined edge.

Lighting-fast turnarounds were in high demand as we developed merch, ad campaigns for special game nights, in-stadium screen and printed graphics, social media, and special assets like weekly wallpaper designs.

We were lucky to have excellent lifestyle and action photography, and we didn’t squander it. It was paired with strong typographic elements and contrasted with organic illustrations to evoke movement and maintain visual interest.

Though we had a very specific style guide, there were infinite compositional opportunities. In particular, we had a great set of elements that were provided by the LA Kings Creative team. Layering these elements was a fun challenge. We prioritized a sense of motion and excitement, and with brand approval, we created additional elements to turn up the action. Sponsor requests were also given special attention.

Theme Night and Special Event Marketing Campaigns

Marketing Campaigns are quick turnaround projects that required a specific understanding of what is allowed and required of each ad or graphic. Some ad platforms allow buttons while others do not. Items that will be projected onto screens will benefit from a QR code, while those that are viewed in mobile devices will not. In small sizes, which information can we leave out? How large must the sponsorship logos be? It’s important to understand these allowances and limitations in order to maximize ROI in ad spending and reach the largest audience possible.

Though 2 sizes may appear the same ratio, they might be viewed at different scales. Understanding these limitations and user behavior is essential for an effective campaign.
